BRIDGE Global Summit in Rio de Janeiro

From December 11–13th, 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, the BRIDGE Summit will convene leaders from neuroscience, funding agencies, law, policy, and data governance for an intensive working session focused on advancing global brain data governance. Rather than a traditional conference, the meeting will center on collaboratively evaluating and refining a pilot governance framework developed through the BRIDGE project. Participants will contribute expertise to identify implementation strategies, institutional partnerships, and sustainable funding mechanisms while exploring the formation of an international coalition for coordinated brain data sharing. The summit aims to produce a validated governance framework, a shared understanding of key barriers and solutions, and concrete commitments to accelerate global implementation.
